I always need a quick, easy dessert recipe on hand since my baking skills are subpar. Growing up in New Jersey, fried Oreos have always been a boardwalk staple, but I thought they’d be too complicated for a simple dessert. That is, until I realized I could just use pancake batter as the batter for the Oreos. I’m sure the pros use something a little more homemade, but this recipe is honestly delicious.
Ingredients:
Bisquick ‘shake and pour’ pancake mix
12 Oreos
1 1/2 cups olive oil
Powdered sugar (optional)
Directions:
Make pancake mix according to package instructions. (If it’s the shake and pour kind, you should just need to add water.) Heat oil to 350. (I used a small pot for deeper oil). Then, dip Oreos into pancake batter. Place in oil two at a time. Fry until golden brown, about 1 minute; flip to fry other side if necessary. Dust with powdered sugar and serve.
