There is one appetizer that always draws a crowd from my family and friends: buffalo chicken dip. Yes, I think I’ve made it clear that I am totally obsessed with anything buffalo chicken. This dip is no exception. With only five simple ingredients, it’s a go-to for any friendly gathering. From Christmas Eve to just another night out with friends, the buff chick dip always makes an appearance.
The secret to any good dip is cream cheese. I’m telling you, spinach and artichoke dip, crab and cheese dip, buffalo chicken dip…they all revolve around some variation of cream cheese. Cream cheese is also a key ingredient in my thick and creamy mac and cheese recipe, so needless to say, I can’t live without it. Anyway, something as addicting as this dip doesn’t need to many words to describe it. I’ll let the flavor speak for itself.
Ingredients:
8 oz. cream cheese
10 oz. chicken, cooked and shredded
¼ c buffalo sauce—I love Steve & Ed’s
¾ c ranch dressing—I recommend Hidden Valley
¼ c feta, crumbled—you’re welcome to use blue cheese, but my mom and sister have an allergy, so I get the blue cheese texture from feta
Let the cream cheese soften for about an hour before making this recipe. Preheat oven to 350. Add all ingredients but feta together in a bowl and mix well until combined. Mix in feta. Transfer dip to a pie plate and cook for 20 minutes. Serve immediately with tortilla chips or fried pita.
This is awesome. Also the bold move of going feta over blue cheese makes this my favorite dip
